Kenai sits on the bluff over Cook Inlet at the mouth of the river, about eleven miles west of Soldotna on the Kenai Spur Highway. Old Town carries some of the oldest standing buildings on the peninsula, and the neighbourhoods off Beaver Loop and Bridge Access Road hold everything from cannery era houses to newer construction.
